This week, the Gorilla Doctors team welcomed back Jess Burbridge as the new Development and Communications Officer. Jess served as the Gorilla Doctors Director of Marketing and Communications from October 2012 to January 2015, and in that position, she created and maintained all of the organization’s outreach materials such as the website, social media channels, annual report and all print materials. During her time in this position, she helped to facilitate three documentaries on the Gorilla Doctors field work, orchestrated the redesign of the Gorilla Doctors website to provide a fully responsive online source of information to donors, designed and installed informative panels about our work in luxury lodges in Rwanda and Uganda, and helped throw multiple high profile fundraisers to benefit the Gorilla Doctors.

She spent the previous year finishing her MA in Communications at the Johns Hopkins University and graduated in May. As the new Development and Communications Officer, Jess will primarily focus on donor stewardship.

“We are incredibly happy to have Jess back on the Gorilla Doctors team” said Gorilla Doctors director Dr. Kirsten Gilardi. “She brings such a breadth of knowledge in marketing and communications, first-hand experience with our critical work in Africa, and a natural talent for sharing her passion for gorillas with people from all over the world. Welcome back Jess!”
