Gorilla Doctors would like to give thanks to our newest supporter, the Sacramento Zoo in California, for their generous donation of $18,000 to support gorilla conservation!

“The Sacramento Zoo is increasing its commitment to conservation by supporting exciting field conservation projects both locally and around the globe with the Quarters for Conservation program. Through the collection of quarters, the Zoo provides funding for wildlife conservation projects… our members and visitors are part of this exciting contribution to wildlife conservation.”

Throughout the last year, each visitor entering the zoo was given a token. The tokens allowed each person to vote for one of three selected conservation projects to support – and helped the Zoo staff to determine how much funding each project would receive.

Each of the three projects, benefiting giraffes, bush rabbits, and gorillas, respectively, received $5,000 as preliminary support and additional funding based on the number of votes their project received. We are thrilled that the Sacramento Zoo visitors raised an additional $12,000 to support the work of Gorilla Doctors!
